Unite is our native macOS GroupMe app that allows you to send and receive GroupMe messages on the Mac. Over the last few years, the GroupMe platform has grown with support for features like reactions, quoted inline replies, message editing, and more. macOS has also continued to evolve with the launch of features like Apple Intelligence. We spent the last few months updating Unite with support for these features and a lot more, addressing common issues and customer requests along the way.
- We added the ability to edit messages after they’ve been sent.
- We added support for sending and viewing quoted inline replies.
- We added support for reacting to messages with 18+ emoji reactions.
- We added more advanced group management options, including the ability to customize group permissions, change the owner, set the group’s image, and more.
- We added a new Polls screen that allows you to create and view your GroupMe polls.
- We added a new Gallery screen that shows all recently-shared photos in a group.
- We added a new Calendar screen that allows you to create, edit, and view your GroupMe calendar events.
- We now show rich link previews for websites shared in conversations, so you can see what a website is about before opening it.
- We added support for Apple Intelligence, so you can receive notification summaries, send personal emoji with Genmoji, proofread your messages with Writing Tools, share images generated with Image Playground, and view more information about animals, plants, objects, and places in photos with Visual Intelligence.
- We made various design improvements to modernize the look and feel of the app’s main window with more space, a bigger message box, nicer-looking avatars, and more.
- We made countless under-the-hood improvements to optimize and modernize the app so it’s in a better position for the future.
Whether you’ve tried the app before or are a new user, we hope you find these enhancements useful. To learn more about Unite, head to our website or check out the app in the Mac App Store.
